Rotate image 90 degrees, 180 degrees or any angle
Most sideways pictures need a quarter turn. A few need a half turn. And some need only a small tilt so a wall or horizon looks level. The tool covers all three.
Quarter turns: rotate image left or right
Press the left button to rotate image 90 degrees counterclockwise, or the right button to rotate image 90 degrees clockwise. Press right three times and you rotate image 270 degrees, which is the same as one turn to the left. Every press updates the preview straight away.

What the EXIF orientation tag is
Phones and cameras often save the pixels in one fixed direction and add an EXIF orientation note that says how to display them. The EXIF orientation tag is like a sticky note on the file: “show this turned right”. Apps that read the note show the photo correctly; apps that ignore it show it sideways.
Why are my photos sideways after upload
When an image shows sideways after upload to a website, a form or an older program, that program has ignored the note. Corners after rotating: crop or keep the whole picture
When you rotate image by angle that is not a multiple of 90°, the rectangle tilts and leaves four empty triangles at the corners. You decide what happens to them.
Crop empty corners (default)
The default setting zooms in just enough so no empty corners remain. The result looks like a normal straight photo, and nothing strange appears at the edges. It is the best choice for most straightened pictures.
Rotate image without cropping
Choose to keep the whole image when every part matters, such as a document or a logo. The canvas grows to fit, and you fill corners after rotating with transparency or a colour. Rotate PNG without losing transparency
If your PNG already has a see-through background, save it as PNG again and the transparent parts stay transparent. JPG has no transparency, so a colour fill is used there.
