Websites often serve WebP, which older editors and some forms reject. Webp to jpg gives you a file that opens everywhere. Transparent areas are filled with the colour you choose, white by default. AVIF to JPG
AVIF is small but still not accepted everywhere. Avif to jpg makes it universal, whether you convert avif image to jpg from a website or need avif to jpeg for an old editor.
GIF to JPG
Gif to jpg keeps the first frame as a still picture, because JPG cannot store animation. If you need every frame as a separate picture, use a video or GIF editor; this tool saves only the first frame.

RAW and PSD to JPG
Camera RAW and Photoshop files are too complex for a browser, so they are processed on our server. They are sent over HTTPS, converted in memory and not stored.

PSD to JPG

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG has no transparency. Every transparent pixel must become a colour. The converter lets you choose which one.
Convert PNG to JPG with white background
White is the default, which is what most forms and printers expect. To convert png to jpg with white background, just leave the default. To convert to jpg with background colour other than white, pick black, brand colours or any custom colour if the image will sit on a coloured page.
Convert transparent PNG to JPG safely
If you convert transparent png to jpg and later need the transparent version, keep the original PNG. Once saved, the fill cannot be removed. For stickers and logos, save WebP instead, which keeps transparency and is still small and choose WebP as the output.

Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
Technically yes, because JPG discards some detail. At quality 85+ you will not see the difference in photos. For text, line art and logos, you might, so keep them as PNG. Keep date and camera

JPG vs JPEG and other questions
What is the difference between JPG and JPEG?
None. JPEG is the name of the format; JPG is the three-letter extension from older Windows versions. To convert to jpeg is the same as converting to JPG, and every jpeg converter produces the same kind of file.
Why is my JPG bigger than the PNG?
Flat graphics with a few solid colours compress better as PNG. If a JPG comes out larger, keep the PNG or try WebP.
Why does a form say my file is not a valid JPG?
